MEET THE TEAM

Dayne Horne

Director and Chiropractor

Where did you grow up?

Born and raised in Sydney! I grew up in Balmain, the inner west of Sydney, which is where my Mother and Father both grew up – a big Rugby League community/working class area (used to be) with pubs on every corner of suburbia and everyone getting behind the mighty Balmain Tigers. As a family we would always head down to the South Coast, NSW (North Durras) for a 1 month holiday in January every year and it was everything outdoors - cricket, surfing and running a muck in that caravan park as a teen!

What were 10 year old Dayne’s aspirations?

Prior to becoming a Chiropractor I had strong aspirations to either become a professional Rugby League player, NBA Basketballer or an Australian Cricketer! I loved all things sports and couldn’t decide which sport I loved the most so played all three for many years. Alternatively, I was going to become a Sports Journalist, this was a Plan B, the thought of getting paid to either play or watch sports and report on it, was a dream!

What do you consider your greatest achievement(s)?

Besides opening MVP Health with my wife Sophie, I’d have to say representing my country in Rugby League. This was for the Australian University Rugby League side that toured New Zealand, 2015. They were some of the biggest humans I’ve ever had to gone into battle against!

I also got to travel to Canada and represent my state, NSW in University Rugby League. What an experience that was to go across the world to Canada and play the sport I love the most.

What made you want to be a Chiro?

Initially I wanted to become a Physio, this was due to the countless injuries and trips to my first every Physio’s practise. I had terrible knee injuries that required up to 3 surgeries, first starting at 14 years old. The list went on from shoulder injuries, muscular tears, and then a traumatic neck injury where I sustained a hairline fracture. This was intense but thanks to an amazing sports based Chiro, I was back playing within 4 months with confidence and now passion for this style of Chiro.

It was their lifestyle, face to face connection with the local community and being able to help someone get back to doing what they love, is what really inspired me to become a Chiro.

If you could do only one type of exercise for the rest of your life what would it be?

Strength training! The feeling of being able to go through every day life without any issues is a great feeling. We all need to do it for the rest of our life, so why not enjoy it as much as possible. Not only do we get physical benefits but I really love it for the mental/head space benefits post workouts!

If your life had a theme song, what would it be?
